Quick amp question

I have my sub amp gain a little over 3/4. I have the bass boost on the amp at 0. Is it better to back the gain a little and use the bass boost, or to leave the sub amp bass boost off and the gain a little past 3/4?

no boost. use a meter to set the amp gains with.
