i have a chance to pick up a old school cfa 1000d with bass knob for 100 or a memphis mc1000d for 130 what would be the better amp

CFA would be my choice... the mc's are okay... but I think the other one is better

Age... lol... I've got an old school Earthquake D2 Shredder sitting in my trunk... would say its older than that CFA... thing is beating like a race horse..

just check all the caps and make sure nothing is leaking or burnt..

From what I recall they are essentially the same amp. Laid out a bit differently but the same circuit design. I would go for the cfa
