quick aeroporting question

i was farting around on the12volt's calculators and made a 14" cube that comes out to about 1.13 cubes.. then designed the port at 3" tuned to 29hz for that volume and it gave me the port length (of course longer than 17" but w/e)

question is, does that new port volume decrease the "box volume" now so that it isn't actually 1.13 cubes but closer to .85?

Unless the port is external, yes it does. A 19" port would take the volume to 1.04 @ 29.4 hz.
