question?

I just got a new JL Audio W3v3 and I have a new car with a factory deck. To get the sub installed I'm gonna need to buy a high low converter for 25 buck so I figured if I get a new head unit I will basically be saving 25 dollars. The factory deck I have now has an auxillary port and 6 cd changer. Would there be any advantage to buying a new deck and is it worth it?

If so, what's a really nice one under $120. I was looking at the Dual XDMR7700

one of those converters your talking about usually comes with every amplifier that you buy. i would try to stay away from replacing yourr factory HU because it sounds decent, and an aftermarket HU will stand out in your dash and not fit as seamlessly.

for the money you are willing to spend on a new head unit it, i doubt it really would be a step up from your factory. unless if you find a good model that is used.

the aux port is most likely for an aux input source like an ipod or such. you will need to buy a low output converter if you are not going to get a new head unit to alow you hook up your amp.
