Will i hurt the 15" HC sub by running it off of a 800 watt power amp, I have. (use it when i DJ) just in the mean time while i build the box for my car and what not?

What's the rms on the amp and whats the rms on the sub? Is the sub in a box? What type of box, sealed ported bandpass etc?

underpowering doesn't hurt anything does it?
