well if its trying to draw more current and your car isnt supplying it, then your amp has to work harder to get that current, causing it to heat up. so yes

Its a 120A.

My amp (HiFonics BXi1600) is really inefficent and ******* power.

I'm trying to bandaid it untill I can afford the big 3.

I know, I forgot to add 220A alt, and a few other goodies.

I thought the big 3 was battery, alt, and wires.

Thats what I figured when you said 3 wires isn't gonna add power. I know that, but I was too lazy to see what the big 3 was. Anyways..

I'm not sure if a 120a alt can handle two batteries. What do you think?

no, it will put more strain on your alt, and it will be harder for it to charge both batteries if its having a hard time keeping up with one.
