question???

ok i have the LT980/2 power acoustik amp.... and i have a 12 inch punch stage one [gettin another 1] and my dad bought a verge 12 [crappy and cheap]... and when i hooked up the verge with the rockford... it wasnt even as loud as the rockford alone... that dosent make any sense[well at least for me sense im a noob].... did i just hook it up wrong or something???
