Question...Subs going out...amp problem?

Ok so I currently have 2 12" Solo Kickers which is 3000 watt peak. My amp is only 1000 watts.

Ok so I kno 1000w isnt enough to push my kickers but sometimes when I have on about volume 20-25 the subs will go out and on my amp the power light will still be on and the over current light comes on. Does this mean that I'm trying to use to much power and my amp can't power it so the amp cuts off?
