Hey guys I am really Interested in a JL w7 12" I plan to buy a brand new one off ebay and intend on having it installed at tweeters along with a custom box to reach full potential. Could I build one on my own?? my school has all the equitment but where can i get the dementions.

Also by looking at the JL site

Ive noticed that 1000/1 amp would be good. I hear the JL amp is underrated? It seems too expencive for just an amp. More then the actual sub. Could i get some reccomendations on an efficiant amp where I wont worry about blowing it but still get a crap load of power? thanks alot for your help.

Ill post pics when my system is Finished...

Thanks guys

Bryan

Part of the reason that this amp is priced so high is that it will pot out 1000 rms at 1.5 - 4 ohms. So you would be getting a true 1000 watts to the dub 7. The dub 7 is either a single 3 ohm or dual 1.5 ohm. You could look into jbl they run the 3 ohm well also as theit gti series subs are 3 ohm as well. I would just go with the 1000/1.

On avg. if you were to test the 1000/1 you would have between 1200-1300 rms... Dropping 50-60 watts in 3 volts... Zapco, us amps, jbl, jl, diamond audio.. Theres lots of amps out there that will suit 3 ohms fine.. How deep are your pockets is the question

It is a great sub but it is very expensive and runs @3ohms which is a real downfall when it comes to buying amps. There are about 10 other subs out there that are just as good if not better than the W7 that are dual 2 ohm which means you can run it at 1 ohm which is the best bang for you buck, or a dual 4 ohm that runs @2 ohms is nice as well. Look at these subs and amps. I did the JL 500/1 and the 10W7 and the custom tweeter box, it ran me about $1300, you can do it for $800 or less.

I've seen wood restore kits that are similar to bedliner. Those come in different colors and iirc, you can tint them.

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...

Nothing to add to this, Just wanted to say good luck and that I miss MiniDisc. OH!! Is that a Japanese Radio Tuner or does it get stations in the US?

That would be fantastic! Id love to see the skills involved here. It always intrigues me to see some customizing from small and detailed to large...
