The JL Audio amplifiers are STRICTLY regulated to produce RATED power between 1.5 and 4 ohms! Some bench tests show higher numbers, but they are using a non-reactive resistive load with a specific frequency so that will net you a slightly higher RMS number.
If anyone wants to impress me with a bench score, how about running a 20 to 300 Hz signal through the JL amplifier with a reactive resistive load, and let's see what power it produces on the bench! I bet you it will be closer to rated!
