Question on how to get the best bass and sound. . .

I have a clarion head unit and 2 alpine type r's ran at 2 ohms powered by a directed 1500d. what is the best set up for the amp (gain, freq, bass boost, ex)... i also have a mtx crossover which gives me more options to play with along with another 12db bass boost... what is your opionons on achieving the best sound possible?? thanks for your help...

my alpines are in a sealed box... as far as speakers in the car i have eclipse 6x9's in the rear, infinity kappa 3.5 in the dash and audiobaun 5.25 midbass and tweeters in some kick pannels along with another set of tweeters. Thanks for your help

Turn the bass boost off, forget you even have it.

Set your gain according to the Sticky on this forum.

The LPF you'll need to tune by ear to what you think sounds right, generally around 70-80Hz depending on the LFE of your front stage.

Without knowing your front speakers, I'm afraid I can't help you further...

what kind of box is it in?, right off the bat bass boost is a no no, I personally like to set my gains with a DMM, so that i know that i'm not clipping....., pretty much the freq. you will have to tweak by ear...

From what I've read on these forums, type ARGGS don't really shine unless they're in a slot ported (vented) box.

X2 on the bass boost, don't use it!
