Question on BTL and the right amp...

Yeah I would do the big three, Then save a little until you can get an aftermarket battery for under the hood to replace the stock one.

dude, your electrical won't be holding you back until somewhere around 1800+ watts. the only reason to upgrade your wiring, extra batteries, etc should be if you're planning to increase the wattage(which I'd recommend) or if you really care about the lights dimming that much:rolleyes:

If your amp is getting 12v under full load, then upgrading your alternator to maintain 14v to the amp will only gain you about 150 watts and prolly isn't going to be noticeable to your ears. Now, upgrading the alternator when running 3500+ watts makes a huge difference for transient bass blasts and light dimmage, but with 1200 watts it wont. an aq2200 should do your blt justice

****... thanks a lot for that information

Idk I'm going to drop it into a friends box and hook it up to my amp to see if I like how it sounds. If it sounds good I'll be keeping it. If it barely moves, I'll be trading it lol:crap:

you, sir, are not very smart.

There are multiple variables to be considered before you can say ANYTHING like that.

run the sundown...do the big three too.

ahh if only every answer aligned up with the others..lmao

idk I trust people on car audio teams more though..lol

why sundown instead of aq?

i like sundown more imo

the aq will do you just fine though if you need cash. Either or is a win man.

Sell one of em...run the other, use the money from the one to start saving for a ho alty, then some batts. Then do a partial trade or sell the amp you would be currently using and get a bigger mofo to push that btl to its limits.

Another question: If I run an older Memphis Mojo 16-2000D in a Nissan Cube (tiny engine), will I have to upgrade the alternator or get batteries or can I get away with just the big 3?

what size alty? i think its 60amp...so your going to get voltage drop something horrid

Upgrade your electrical man, sucks havin to spend money on it instead of a bigger amp but worth it in the end. Im basicly in the same predicament ;either to buy a sub or buy an alt.

So I got a 12" Fi BTL...nice sub I know. lolBut, I only have an AQ 1200D amp

I'm getting a sundown 1200D amp in a week or two as well but I'm selling one of the two.

My question is, can this sub still wang off of one of those amps and if so which one should I keep? I'd prefer to sell the Sundown cause its worth more but thats just me.

And no, I don't want to trade both for a bigger amp. My electrical can't handle it lol. Thats why I got rid of the RF t2000.1bd
Build a larger than normal box and you will get the sub moving a bit more on the "low" power.

listen son, i will recommend ANYTHING that I've personally done myself

what are these unknown "variables" that you speak of:confused: his current alt size? I ran 1500 watts off of a stock 90 amp alternator w/stock battery without any problems whatsoever for about 2 years. this is 1200 watts here were talking about, not a nuclear power plant:laugh:

oh and jake's right, bigger box=more efficient
