Question on blown fuse

most importantly you have to trace back your power wire. From my experiences the power wire will most likely be the culprit if there's a short that's causing the fuse to blow. My feeling is you may have ran it through the grommet from the hood and strip it when it made contact with the metal. That's what happened to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

its actually not going through the firewall.
goes through the engine bay then under next to the chassis(maybe something is touching there) then up through a small hole behind my seat.
wait...under the chassis? My guess is the wire got burned and is now just chilling there, not connected to anything.

Never assume red is hot and black is ground. Its VERY easy to verify with a DMM, if you dont know how, ask here or google it.... but learn it. Guessing, and being wrong, is many times a rather costly mistake. Sometimes its a dangerous mistake as well.

Home wiring (110v) color coding is basically totally different. Ground is green usually, for example.

You have a short somewhere in your circuit. If it blows a 200amp fuse as soon as you complete the circuit, clearly something is drawing over 200amps immediately. Sounds like a dead short somewhere. Find it. Trace every inch of wire if you have to, but its most likely in a connection somewhere.

The last possibility is your fuse had been clinically depressed and decided to commit *******. Had you noticed any odd mood swings before the event occurred?

your probably right, i haven't really had a chance to diagnose the problem, i'm kind of anxious to get this done, i've never seen a DD9510 in a regular cab ranger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif the whole install went pretty smoothe until this lol

Thanks?
My extreme intelligence makes me appear as an anal prick to people with a more normal IQ level.

well, i no longer see you as an anal prick. So i'm smarter? yay.
Yes, not seeing me as a prick shows intelligence. You have taken a big step forward here today.
Some day you will come to realize that actually looking up to me, as a role model, shows a high level of intelligence. And your training will be complete.

ive never thought anal prick when i thought audioholic..... Weird.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
You are quickly becoming one of my greatest pupils.
