Well, my friend and i installed my subs and amp and everthing and they worked fine for a day, but the next morning i turned on my music and the subs hit a couple of times, then just stopped. He came over, the fuses on the amp were blown. I replaced them, reconnected everything, and attatched the ground and as soon as i did that, it sparked and stuff. anyways i tried it again, and a small spark came, and then the amp started smoking and stuff.

First of all, what do you think happened?

Second, is it fixable?

And third, how much would a shop (car toys) typically charge for this repair

You hooked your amp up backwards. You most likely used too big of fuses if you saw smoke. Smoke = buy a new amp.

what do you mean backwards? i connected everything back in the same place as it was.

And the fuses i took out were 20 and i put 20's back in.

would it even be worth it to repair it?

If you dont know what he means when he says your power supply is blown there isnt much chance you will be fixing it yourself. If its under warranty send it in for repair or find a reputable person here to fix it. There is a possibility also that you blew some output fets first which led to the blowout of the power supply. Any amp is worth fixing in my opinion. Just isnt always cheap.
