Question for those with Horns

What are you powering them with and how much do you have going to them? I was thinking of running them off my HU power (might as well put it to use, heh). Would this be a bad idea for any reason? I'm looking at the ID cd1 pro's btw, in case that helps at all....

uh, usually yo want to use a EQ on horns, moreso than a small HU EQ

Horns are typically 8ohm. If you run them off of the head unit, they will see half of the rms power (typically 18ish rms @ 4 ohms) so about 9 rms.

I think he's talking about those Extremis enclosures.

And i was tlaking about just using the HU power, not the HU crossover and EQ as well....

if you go off head unit power how will you eq or xover the horns? you have hi input and output level eq's and amps? a small amp of 20-50 x 2 is all thats needed. anymore its a waste unless you want headroom lol
