Question for religious people.......

It seems like something very hard to grasp. But then you also have to grasp the time.
We have found plenty of alternatives. It just isn't easy to switch over. And it isn't cheaper. So what incentive is there?

Life has found a solution? I don't understand what your getting at. Plants use sunlight to create energy. We can also use solar energy. But the difference is, plant use sunlight to grow. That's all. They don't walk around. Play sports. Or do anything. And humans eat food. It isn't exactly cheap, or easy.

I'm just not quite sure as to what your point is. We have found many ways to create energy. They just aren't free. Go out and hunt your own food, it costs you your time. Or go buy it, and it costs you money. You pick.

Did this supreme being create everything, then sit around for 4 billion years and just watch it? Then finally decide, hey lets make some people.

who says it isn't cheaper, the same people who mass produce/sell oil and fuel now? Well sh!t, no wonder why - if i can continue to sell something to you that I am currently making billions off of, and tell you in the same breath that it isn't affordable/cheaper to produce another product on the same scale as oil/gas; you will believe them without asking for the evidence; but yet when we say we believe in God people want "proof" to his existence before they even consider the possibility of his being.

I'm not reading 13 pages of arguing but my main problem with people who base there ideas on science is they fail to admit one very important detail.

The laws of science say matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed this is a scientific FACT that has been proven time and time again. Using this law there MUST be something eternal. Period. If matter cannot be created then they're always had to be something. There is no finite beginning where everything was created as something had to be transfered into it ( energy and matter).

No matter how you look at it you cannot convince me that there is not something eternal. They say the big bang was a result of gas's, but where did the gas's come from. And where did the thing that made the gases come from. There has to be something eternal if that fact is indeed true.

This thread is stupid. Here's an ugly fish for you to look at.

What are you talking about, you asked a unbias question, I gave an honest answer. I am typing with one hand because my son is sleeping in my lap. As for logic, what are you refering to? If you are intrested to here the christian point of view, cool I'm here, If you have your mind made up and don't want to deal with me any further thats fine also. It does seem you have some hard feelings though and I don't understand why

they just like to argue and that is all; they have nothing better to do...but like I said before; even with the "truth" staring them in the face, they will continue refusing to believe it cause they can not see it or touch it; but if you could send them a link they might //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif; especially if the link is from Fox.

I don't see how wanting tangible proof and watching fox news is correlated?

the "truth"...what fucking truth:confused:

truth involves facts...facts are not belief or feelings. facts are provable.

Anyways...this unthinking is what I object to the most. You see, after I experienced Christianity (keeping in mind that I went through baptism and confirmation in an attempt to understand it better), I came out quite disturbed that I had wasted so much time in a baseless religion, while on the other side of the world, there was something equally (dare I say, more?) plausible: buddhism.

.
so you never fully accepted Jesus Christ and the Catholic church, if you did in fact those "questions" you hold so dear would not exist.

nga, if i had a ****ing enterprise I would go way out into other galaxies and find mor answers. Since we dont have that technology to discover more thats out there, we will no know(until it is made). These laws are based on our limited knowledge of whats out there. Who knows what else is on other planets or in other solar systems.

I agree, but my problem lies with the people who say there is no God because science disproves it, but science also states what I said above...

Ok, got you. But boomboombay says everyone who doesnt claim a religion based on god automatically accepts science as their religion. I dont really accept either, neither has all the answers.....yet. They have explanations.

Nothing you said above equates to there being a god. Science cannot disprove god, nor prove it. That's why it is called theory.

Ok, got you. But boomboombay says everyone who doesnt claim a religion based on god already accepts science as their religion. I dont really accept either, neither has all the answers.....yet. They have explanations.
I see, I don't agree with him.

If you fail to claim a religion based on God or any gods that doesn't automatically make you an science idiot. It just makes you "lost" in the view of many of the religions.

I personally struggle with the idea of eternity as I can't wrap my mind around that idea, but have rationalized it into what I currently believe and that is my explanation of the matter being created that I posted above.

Truth is no faith based religion has all the answers.

You got nobody. If you don't believe in God, then you must believe in science. It's really not that difficult to comprehend, is it?
Wait, you can believe in both, but not neither?

That isn't very logical.

I didn't realize that this was such a black and white topic.
