question concerning port space and box volume?

i shoudl know this, but i dont. Does the air inside the port count as airspace in the box or no?? especially if its a really long port and goes down two sides of the box??

nope the air space INSIDE the port is BESIDES the air space in the box, so if you got a 1.5cf box with a slot port, its like 1.2 , so for youre box to have 1.5cf you would need like 1.8 total so after the BIG port displacement its more like 1.5.
