Guys, I need help. I decided to install a RF 1Farad cap to get rid of headlights and dashboard flashing/blinking. I had my cap installed at a local store am not sure if they did it right.

Below is how the connected it.

- power from battery to (+) terminal of cap

- (-) terminal of cap to ground using an 8awg

- from (+) terminal of cap to dist block also an 8awg

But the problem is, am still getting that annoying blinking on dashboard and headlights when I turn-up the volume. I have a stock alternator and I was maybe the I need to change them.

I usually play my system with an engine off. What do you I think need? Does the cap really help on the light blnking problem?

Appreciate any comments/response.

The cap is installed correctly. Your lights are still blinking because your alternator can't keep up. The only alternative you have is to upgrade your electrical system.

What amplifier are you running? What size wire from the battery? Did you upgrade the alternator and batteries wires? That might help you a little bit.

If you usually play it with your engine off you may wat to consider getting a second battery. Althought this will not help all that much when your actually driving it will help a lot when the car is off. If when you are driving all your lights are dimming, then you'll have to look at upgrading your alternator and possibly wireing

...ic...well, i think it's really time to upgrade my alterntor, cause i still have the stock one not sure about the Amp/voltage output....

...wires from the battery i think is 4awg its bit thicker than 8awg...am pretty cool with battery wires...you're right on replacing my alternator...

...thanks a lot bro...

Only thing is alternator doesn't do anything for you when your engine isn't running... So if your play it the majority of the time with your car off it might not be very benifical to u

Nothing to add to this, Just wanted to say good luck and that I miss MiniDisc. OH!! Is that a Japanese Radio Tuner or does it get stations in the US?

That would be fantastic! Id love to see the skills involved here. It always intrigues me to see some customizing from small and detailed to large...
