and optimized for SQ, more than SPL

18's can function very well in sound quality installations, and have been used to win many sound quality world championships.

As to the original question.....what's your budget? Available space? How much power do you have?

sorey to post jack but what about the 19Ov.2 it is onely $250 and is Small Box Optimized with good sq my ? is will one of thes in a mustang in a 3cf sealed box with 700 wats be a good thing or a bad thing I wont killer spl so I wont a 18in sub but it is a mustang so 3cf is the most i can geve up and that is what ed designed the sub to sound best in

budget... i dont really have one, I just wait till i have money and get what suits me best instead of gettin' somethin' that doesnt even suits me cuz of money...but my very limit would be 500! 600to the VERYVERY limittt!, I could fit 4cu.ft in my cargo I think, and I dont have an amplifier yet but something around 1500rms maybe, less would be better,(i will buy an Eclipse DA7122 for my Arsenal) definitaly not over 2000!, I need something for everyday driving utility , somethin' that hit does lows like it was nothing, like a champ, like a MONSTER:yumyum: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif , but still plays accurate till 70-80hz decently like I said , so I beleive sealed would be my box type for an 18", so I would have more space in trunk I think

im willing to buy an 18" in the summer! never heard one, thats why, I'm really curious to hear how its like

Unless its sealed and even sealed isnt 4 cubes a little small for a 18?

well for example the xxx18" suggest 4.2cu.ft sealed

could someone just list all the 18" that are available! I don't think there is much

I'm debating between:

RE XXX 18"

RE MT 18"

AA Avalanche 18"

what other 18" is there that I should be lookin' at?

If you're looking for a speaker "optimized for SQ" as opposed to pure SPL, than the 3 you listed above shouldn't be at the very top of your list...

I'd suggest doing some research on pro audio speakers.

True dat. Example: Nukedsodapop...18SX in 11cf sealed. Sounds **** good. Loud too. Put's my SE10 ported to shame (obviously due to cone area and power levels but you know what i mean)

I don't know of any pro audio subwoofers (i.e. high efficiency) that would be worth two shits in a bucket in the amount of space he has to work with.

For SQ, the "older" XXX and the Ava would be decent choices. Hard to find, but decent choices. Neither of those are very easy to locate, however.

Yea, I guess that's true... Max I'm porting it next weekend

But yea my SX from 100Hz to 10Hz just gets louder and louder the lower it goes, peaks out around 10Hz, then doesnt get any louder.... Or should i say it doesnt shake any harder. lol
