Question about win 7

So I have been in the computer field for a while. As the approach of win 7 is near I have been wondering something. As some of you may know that SOME of the earlier computers that shipped with vista, they were setup so that you could not down grade to windows xp. Something in the motherboard or what not. So are those commuters going to be able to UPGRADE to 7? I will be asking my computer professor this Saturday at class about this. But just trying to get some insight on it now.

There was never anything in the motherboard to prevent downgrading to XP. Its against the law to do it. It may have been a bios flash type of deal, but never hardware based. Upgrading from Vista to Win7 will happen. They are based off the same kernel. Only difference is Win7 is faster and more refined with a bit more eye candy over Vista. Other than that they are the same thing.

There is no hardware lockout, or software lockout keeping you from downgrading any computer to XP or upgrade to 7. The issue is there are no drivers for some of these computers for XP....
