question about the power of amps

I am planning to buy 2 12" subs, not sure what kind yet, but they will probly be able to handle 300 watts rms. I have been looking at 2 channel amps and I am not really sure what to buy. They say they are about 300 watts rms, is that for each channel or total power on the amp?

If you want it to push 2 subs get a monoblock amp a.k.a 1 channel class D amp.

They are better for subs...

if it says 300w x 2 its each channel if it says 300 x 1 its on one channel and so on
