Question about the Big 3

Is running a wire from battery to engine block the same as one from Chassis to engine?

According to big 3 sticky on here it goes 1) Battery negative to chassis 2) Alternator to battery positive 3) Chassis to engine. I can kind of think about it as: if the wire goes from the battery to the engine block instead of the chassis to the engine block, the engine block will still get a good ground because the connection point is just at the battery first and then from there goes to the chassis. Is this thinking correct? Or should the connection just be from chassis to engine?

I have mine run directly to the battery and it work fine. they both should do the same thing.

You have to ground the motor because it is isolated from the rest of the car with rubber motor and ****** mounts.

So the motor wouldnt be grounded if i connected it to the battery negative and then the battery negative to the chassis?

As long as the battery is grounded to the chassis the engine will be grounded either way you hook it up.

Uhhh no . that is wrong the motor is connected to the chasis threw rubber motor and ****** mounts. So if you have a run from somewhere on the motor to your battery or to where you grounded the battery. Another run from battery to chasis ground and another run from alt. stud to positive terminal of battery.

O sorry let me clear that up. The engine will be grounded just fine whether you ran the engine ground to the chassis or to the negative battery terminal. If you do run it straight to the battery it is still grounded to the chassis because the battery itself is grounded to the chassis.
