my hu has three outputs sub, front, rear, is it ok to wire the sub amp to the front output. i use the sub amps crossovers and stuff, i dont use the HUs. the reason i ask is because i listen to my music with the fade set to completely the front, but when i do this i loose power going to my sub. is it ok to the front output instead of the sub output? thanx

Fading the music to the front stage does not reduce voltage from the sub preouts; or it shouldnt at least... So if it is, you have a problem with the deck, or you are a moron.

The only thing that should change the voltage comming from the preouts is the volume and the sub bass control on the deck that specifically controls that pair of preouts.

go for it...the front outs will send a full range signal to your amp, and if you are using your amps low pass crossovers correctly, it should be fine

i do agree with the previous post tho...it shouldnt be affecting your sub out when you fade to the front...so use the front outs and see if it helps

Sub outs are often called "non-fading." The reason is obvious.. they shoudln't fade if you influence the fade in any way. If you are losing bass when you fade, there's something wrong with your sub-out.
