question about speakers

i hooked up my rear speaker (pioneer 6x9) to my amplifier (us acoustic 2 channel). Bridged with my sub (sony xplode 10). whenever i turn my system on and blast it i get this weird smell from my speakers. I wanna know whats wrong...does it mean that my speakers about to blow or is just nothing and it will go away after a while.

Well I don't know if this will help but here it goes. I have Logitech's 1000Watt Z-680's for my comp and when I crank the hell out of them I with a bass cd there is an odor. Not so much a bad smell, just like the smell of new plastic or silicone. But it goes away after I turn them down.

i also had this happen. i finally amped my interior speakers, and when i absolutely CRANKED them (to test them), after a few minutes, i smelled a plastic-y smell. it didn't seem to hurt anything, and i know everything is wired up cherry, so i'm chalking it up to the speakers running warm, or something....
