Question about Speaker Wire

Hello, would it be ok to run 8ga speaker wire from the outside box terminal to the amp... and wire my subwoofer-> inside terminal with 12ga speaker wire? Its all sky high ofc. Im running a sundown x15 on 3k watts @1ohm

Im asking this because I was running sky high 8ga to my sub and 2 runs couldnt fully fit in the terminal. And I fucked a voice coil. Just put a recone in. Should I be running 10ga speaker wire? 12ga is what came with the sky high wiring kit. Oversized 1/0ga ofc.
