Question about speaker adapter plate

My rear speaker supposer to be 6x9.

I want to use 6.5" coaxial.

I bought the Scosche SA69 adapter plate. However, the hole for the speaker is too small for my speaker. My speaker need the diameter at least 6", while the Scosche hole is only 5.5" (if I'm not wrong, that's the diameter, otherwise my speaker will be 5.5" and the Scosche hole is 5".)

I could not use any MDF for the palte because my rear deck is so close to my rear window (sedan car).

Do you guys have any idea what kind of adapter plate I could use?

if you have the tools just fab one up out of some scrap metal. 1/8 plate would work fine.
