Question about port placement/separation for custom box

This still is going to be a daily drive etc with back seat. The reason I want the port to come thru that hole is so I can have my back seats UP and still get all the bass with 4 comfortably seated people.

why not just sound deaden the trunk. box the rear speakers (they are in the rear deck?). make some holes in the rear deck.cover with grill covers or cloth.

Because then I'm cutting up my rear deck. I want the bass port to come through the seat and be as minimally invasive as possible. I don't want to do anything to the car I can't easily reverse should I need to sell it or whatever.

The first thing you need to do is not listen to anyone who is telling you to face the speakers up. They dont understand what your trying to do. They are used to building big square box and taking up the whole car to do it. Only doing what they learn from what others are doing. I had the same plan as you do a while back butnever did it. I hated all that sound being wasted in the trunk. Its like having a home theater system at home with the speakers in the bathroom, kinda stupid huh? Your way of thinking will make anything you do better than what any ofthe followers here can. The only thing is that you want the back of speakersound and front of speaker sound to aim the same general direction. they have proper names instaed of front and back speakersound but you getthe Idea. I amabout ready to start the same project its been along time since I used to it. dont take your rear deck speakers out either dont listen to them.
