Question about pioneer head unit wiring...

So i just bought a Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD for 150 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

My question is if i can just use the same wiring hook up that is in my 1900. My friend had this HU for about 2 months at his mom's house, but it wasnt on its original box or anything, so he just pretty much gave me just the HU with some lil box that looks like its for the antenna. He didn't give me the plug for the power, ground, etc... If i can't hook up my 1900 wiring adapter straight on it, can i buy it somewhere?

I think the connector will work, but keep in mind that the 12V has an inline fuse; and the wire on your 1900 that would normally be used for a power antenna most likely will have to be converted to be used as the parking brake wire.

I'd take a good look at the wiring diagram for the avic before doing anything. If all else fails you should be able to order the proped harness through pioneer support.

The AVH has a few more cables like the parking brake line. I'm going to be pulling the HU out today to see if it fits. If it does, do you think there is anytihng that could potentially go wrong if i try to connect it?

If the wire locations on the connector are different and you mix up the power

& ground it could do some damage.

I just tried it and the 1900 plug is a lil bigger and it doesn't fit. Looks like im going to have to contact Pioneer support....
