That's what i figured. I really want one of these when I get my tax returns down the line, but I'd need to get an amp for my 3 way setup and buy a decent 10" sub and amplifier. My tax return won't cover all of that.

if you can read japanese you could get the p01 and have an external 6 channel amp that comes with it. it hin k it's like 20x6

your an idoit if you get e built in amp in such a unit.. they don't use the internal amp because of crosstalk..

my x991 has a built in amp but i turn it off.. the difference is minute in most situations but if your going to use such a highend deck and amps you will hear the difference..

Probably not. If you're looking for a HU with a built in amp, you're not a big enough "audiophile" to notice a difference. You're an "average Joe" listener at that point. I highly doubt most of us on here would be able to tell the difference. FYI, I have my internal amp off on my 800PRS in my car and my 9855 in my Jeep. I can't tell a difference in SQ either way, but the HU does run more efficiently with the internal amp off; the backlights for the buttons don't dim at all with the music with the internal amp off, otherwise, they do.

like i said most situations its not really noticeable but when your using really highend gear and installs techniques its best to keep it off.. im not going to get into detail about why/how just know it can make a difference..
