Question about Pioneer avic D2 units

So I recently purchased a D2 unit off another forum. I'm browsing around and see that I could add sirius radio to it.

Question is, If I buy this unit and hook it up, would I have to pay monthly subscriptions to keep it running?

Never used satellite radio before, so my apologies if this is just a retarded question.

i believe you probably have to pay the subscription fee after you purchase the hardware... maybe you can find a place that will give you a free yr or something if you buy the add-on's for the deck...?

Ok that's kind of what I was figuring. Any idea what a year costs? $50? $100?

i'm sure it says on SIRIUS Satellite Radio - Everything worth listening to is now on SIRIUS or whatever you want's site.... I think XM is $9.99/mo? maybe it is similar to that, I dont do sat radio just assuming here.
