Question about piercings, anyone a professional body piercer?

Got Bass?
I want to have my earlobes gauged, I was wondering if it would be possible to pierce them with a 6 gauge needle. I don't want to start higher and use a taper, I'd rather have them pierced in the larger gauge. Is this possible? If so, will the holes shrink by using this method if I decide to take them out in the future?

Thanks,

B.J.

Not sure if they make needles that big.

If you want to do it all in one shot, you'd need to have the skin removed with a scalpel.

Tapering is more painful than the needles themselves, IMO //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah I gauged my nipples with a taper and it hurt like hell. Thats why I'd rather just get it done in the size I want. Have you been pierced with a scalpel?

Nope, I started out @ 12 on my nipples, got down to 8...had to take the right one out due to rejection a couple years ago, it's completely healed up now but I've just been lazy about getting it re-done. Being asymmetrical bothers me though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The needle's a sharp pain, but it's over very fast...the **** taper feels like it's in there for a lot longer.

I assume you've already checked out BME...

Yeah I hear that, I got my left done first, then decided I needed to be symetrical and got the right.

BME was the first place I went for info about this.

yes you can do that, except they don't use a needle, they use something called a "dermal punch" it's like a hole puncher but for skin. i've seen them in sizes all the way up to 0gauge, but i'm not so sure you can just go to any piercing place and have it done, i'm sure you'd have to find a shop that's really really into that sort of stuff.

as for tapering, there are ways to taper without any pain. a tapering needle just is not one of them. I went all the way up to 2ga in my earlobes, without ever using a tapering pin and it didn't hurt a single bit. the only pain i ever felt in my ears was when i got the initial piercing.

and as far as the hole closing up, i would imagine it would be harder for it to close after using a dermal punch, seeing as how you're actually taking out a chunk of your skin instead of just stretching it, but i don't know this for sure.

Yeah I know people who have had 2 Gauge stretched by a taper and when they took them out the holes shrunk, but I don't know anyone who has been pierced with a dermal punch I would think that is pretty permanent.

only one way to find out, so let us know how it works out for you lol

if you want i can tell you how i stretched my ears out without any tapering needles or pain, just shoot a pm if you're interested...

that's what topical (excuse me while i murder the spelling of this word) anesthetics are for
ohh gotchya, i didn't realize they gave you sedatives when doing that stuff. i guess it seems practical though with the 'extreme peircing' characteristics. more like gouging out skin like you said
