So i have a car that has been sitting for two years. Pretty sure the gas in it is gel by now or something. Was wondering what i could do aside from dropping the tank.
take it out and resell it for profit on what u paid for it?
I would think its ok, My truck sat for about 1 1/2 yrs and it worked fine, just a little sputter. When it ran out, I changed the filter out and it was good after that.
personally i would actually remove and replace the gas. of course gas loses it's combustible properties over time so i really dont know what kind of abuse your internals and fuel pump would be subjected to attempting to move and ignite the now not so volitile gas.
Siphon it out and sell it on Ebay as 'classic fuel' that was less than $2/gallon. You'll probably make enough to retire off of. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Siphoning it out is your best bet. After 2 years I don't think I would trust it to run through the fuel system. Have you already done an oil change on the car? If not, I'd suggest doing that also before you crank it again....
My Miata sat up for nearly a year the old gas was weak I;ve been driving with fresh gas and it run fine...My van still has over half a tank of the original gas from 2 years ago...I'm hoping someone siphons it out trying to steal it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
