Question about mp3s and CD Changers

I just had a question. If you buy a CD changer that plays mp3s, but your cd player doesn't, then can you listen to the mp3s or not?

yeah, you can, just cause the laser in the head unit is'nt designed to read a mp3 it has nothing to do with the changer.

It has nothing to do with how the laser reads. It reads 1's and 0's all the same. It's what it does with the 1's and 0's, whether they are mp3 or PCM. I'm not sure the answer to the question though, it depends where the D/A conversion takes place.
