Question about memphis 6x9's versus's my factory 6x9's that were in 2000 grand prix

you'll want to amplify them man.

my old 6X9s didnt sound good at all. i gave them about 75WRMS and they sorta rattled the lid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the bass was definitely there

Factory speakers are a paper cone, which is lighter. They run and produce more sound when they have little power to them. However, adding power to the system will blow them easily.

Aftermarket speakers are designed to handle the power, so when given it, they will be much louder and produce more sound, but when given the same as a factory speaker, they will lose bass output, as the cone is heavier and designed in a different manner.

Ok I flipped the wires pairs makes no difference on either speaker , but I did notice if you unplug one of the speakers they have bass then you can do this with either side that also includes leaving the fronts on . Any ideas?

Not sure what the 180 degree phase means but what should I do . Yes I flipped the wires on each one made no difference only difference is if you unplug one the the other 6x9 sounds good lol

You flipped the wires on both at once? Did you try it on just one of them, leaving the other the same?

And as it probably is power, it won't make much of a difference. Get more power to them, and they'll sound great compared to the factory.

What can I do to get more power to them ? Do you know what this 180 degree phase shift is that audiolife was talking about?
It's exactly what I said. It means its playing out of phase with the other speaker - he's asking if you only flipped one speaker and checked, rather than flipping both. 180 degree phase shift means that each 6x9 is playing 180 degrees off from each other, and the bass typically cancels much easier with that.

Getting more power to them involves running an amplifier. No such way out of the head unit.
