since many had given this company positive feedbacks so I am thinking about buying an alternator from this company..

Here is my question.. I found 2 alternators for my 2004 ford explorer 4.6L, but I could not find why are the prices different between those 2 alternators I found? link

I already have sent Mechman a PM, but I thought maybe some of you would know..

Any answer would be appreciated, thanks

i see, externally regulated means I ll be able to adjust the volt level correct?

while the internally is going to be permanent at 12V?

How do you tell which one is externally regulated? which one is more expensive?

Sorry, I am pretty new with alternators.

P.S. Just as stated in OP, I already contacted MECHMAN but like I said I thought maybe some of you guys will be able to answer this for me since MECHMAN might be too busy to get on CA.com and answer my question (which is completely understandable)

yes the externally regulated one the voltage will have to be adjusted and the internal one will be permanent 12 volt . now usually the external one is higher in price then the internal. i think you can contact him directly from the web page. the other person to get in touch with if you want a alt is Nate at EA hes got them from 200amp on up to 300amp

Contact mlogan@mechman.com. That's Matt's work email. He can answer al lof your questions and make sure that you have the exact unit you need. Matt's always busy but never too busy to answer tech questions and make a sale in person.

Yeah but I want to give Mechman alternator a try since I have not seen a negative feedback on this alternator..

also last time I checked, EA is going to cost me 500 while Mechman is 400.. I am not sure though.. but thanks for the suggestion anyway
