Question about IDQv3

I have Hifonics Bxi1608d that puts out (supposedly) 550W @ 4 ohms and 1100W @ 2 ohms. I really want to buy the IDQv3, but I'm not sure if I should buy the 4 ohm or the 2 ohm version, because it's a dual voice coil. Any suggestions?

Just one. Woofers etc. says the power handling is 50-600W. How would I wire that up?

Run it at 550, that will be enough for it. It could handle a *careful* 1100 watts, but doesnt need it, nor will it benefit at all by going to that level. Eric @ ID is running his IDQ10 with 800 wrms, and it handles it great, and the 12" has quite a bit more thermal power handling capability, but like I said, you don't really need it.

I have 847w on tap and my IDQ10V3 takes it like a champ.

I think you could go either way, but I would also suggest going the D2 route, but for a different reason... if you decide you would like to run two subs later, you can simply add another identical sub and you'll still be within your amps operating limits.

buy TWO D2s

wire both in series

get a final impedence of 2 ohms.

then enjoy.
