so basically since my head unit is a dual it has no sound options other than bass and treble and i miss all the features of my old pioneer deh-80mp.
but i need to have a monitior to be able to change music / videos.
I used to just run my xbox audio out directly to the 4ch amp then from the output of the 4ch amp to the sub amp and everything was good, but i needed to put in a toggle switch because when the xbox starts, the bubbly screen is at full volume. After that you can control the volume so i would wait until the music starts to turn on the amps. but i dont wanna have any toggle switches.
I plan to get a dash mount eq with a volume knob, like the kicker KQ5 so i wont have to use my headunit for anything but video.
EQ: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3847_Kicker+KQ5.html and run that to a crossover to split the signal
then i would get the kx3 crossover and run that to the amps: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_526_Kicker+KX3.html#
Ive never used an external eq or crossover so would there be any downside to using this setup instead of a headunit?
