the battery in my car died so i need to get a new one. i thought that i should just upgrade to something like a optima or stinger battery but how do you tell which is right for your car? if you get a battery that is bigger than your origional battery is that bad?

Nothing wrong with a bigger battery as long as it fits in the location...

You should be fine with a deep cycle as a primary battery, like a Group 34-sized Yellow Top, if you want to get something locally.

The physical size and ampacity...a bigger battery's going to have more current delivery and higher reserve ability, of course.

There's Group 51 (Honda/Acura sized), Group 34 (regular vehicle sized) and Group 31 (larger truck/auxiliary battery). I'm sure there are others, but those are the three most used.
