Question about Capacitor

i said that right? i've always been under the impression that that is all a cap does. doesnt really help your power out except run your alt more right?

prolly gonna take him to buy a cap and realize it didnt do anything to help except wear the alternator out faster.
To the op. Do not buy a cap. Its a waste. Upgrade your power wires. Check your grounds (and remember you want bare metal, no paint or anything sand that shit off). If that doesnt fix your problem get a bigger better battery or add another battery in your trunk.

A cap won't hurt your alternator... that is just silly...

If you are running unregulated amplifiers they can help improve transient response by stabilizing voltage drop... but as most people will say, you are generally better off spending money on a high performance, low ESR, battery first... also upgraded wiring and charging system can't hurt either...

In the OPs case he likley just has a poor ground, as I think someone else mentioned...

I think its my Legacy amp that is going bad. The reason why i say this is because i tryed a different battery and it still did the same thing. Now when i turn my car so there power so i can listen to the radio the amp will not come on. It used to come on but now it doesn't, I have to turn the car completely on then the amp will come on. But it still will do the same thing. I have tryed a different battery and it does this. But my other 240w amp will come on when i turn the key to listen to the radio...

I just think its this Legacy amp that is about to go bad.

buy a bigger/better battery

for the last go**** time
