Question about amp draw and wire size...

I'm wondering if, all else equal, an amp putting 75w to 4ohms is drawing the same amount of current as if it were putting 75w to 8ohms...

In particular, I'm about to put in a bigger amp, but it will be powering 2 8ohm drivers instead of the present amp pushing 2 4ohm drivers... and I'm wondering if I need to upgrade wire size.

if im thining right the 8 ohm loads will make your amp have to work less and put out half the watts for the same volume

.. soo im thinking less watts equals less amps needed from your electrical... so you should be fine

If the amp is actually putting out the same power, it shoud draw similar current. You won't need to upgrade wire.
