Your remote turn on will trigger your amp to turn on...He knows what he meant....
A simple connection would be to connect it to the ACC (key power) wire at the deck (if present)
You can get an LOC that will trigger when signal is present.... Some companies call them a TRUNKLOC Or VENREM. Most require being connected to a power source to provide the amp the voltage to turn on...the availability of the signal just lets the turn on voltage pass.
Yes you need to connect your remote line up.... if you dont want a turn on thump (could happen) you might look into connecting it to true ignition. It wont work if you like to turn your key to the (back)acc. position, but you wont drop out (spike) your turn on lead when starting your vehicle.

Some vehicles have a capacitive acc wire that bleeds off slowly so not to spike components connected to its output, and some cars have a (RAP) feature that is a data controlled (Retained Accessory Power), that doesn't drop out as a traditional ACC circuit would.
