Alright, I am new here so hello to everyone and sorry if this setup is crap but I don't make enough for the best stuff out there lol. Here is what I have oh and I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero.

Sony Headunit Model CDXGT22W

Sony Xplod 4x6s in the door, the 4-way 140watt ones

Sony Xplod 6x9s in the back, the 4-way 270watt ones

two 10" Jensen XBase Subs in a bandpass box(no idea the wattage on them can't find out, got from a friend he didn't know. =\)

Now the two subs are hooked up to a 400watt jensen amp that my friend had hooked to them he said since he didn't know the wattage he didn't want to go to high on the amp. I was just wondering if I should get an amp for the front/rear speakers as well and if there were any way at all to find out the wattage on the subs?

Thanks, and I know the system is probably crap but all I could get for now am saving up for better but just wanted something for now.

burn anything that says Jensen on it! and get non crap. Seriously the first stuff I had was Jensen but it was pure crap. Ask around here NO ONE takes Jensen seriously and it's junk.

I'd compare it to eating crap.

btw welcome!

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif the Jensen amp I own and tested puts out clean, rated power.

Alright thanks for the information, but no one has answered my question about the amp for the front door and the rear speakers, do I need one or would it really matter?

wait till you get some money saved up. then get a good 4 channel for the mids/highs, or just a 2 channel for the front.

Alright, so a 4 channel amp for tweeters and the rear speakers and then a 2 channel amp for the two door speakers? Just making sure I understand correctly, would hate to misunderstand then hookup stuff wrong... lol

no..I was saying that you really don't need the rear channel....so you could run a 2 channel for the front or if you really wanted the rear channel, run a 4 channel for front AND rear

Ohh alright, see I had it confused lol misread it. Thanks for the information about how much is a good amp? and should I go with like a 250watt 2channel amp for the front since the speakers are like 140watts total?
