Question about a box I just built..

I haven't carpeted the box yet.. I just hooked up the speakers to make sure everything sounded good and I was pretty pleased.. I was just wondering if I should sound dampen the box in any way.. I've never built a box before so I am basically just wondering if it would make any difference.

If it matters, it's a ported box tuned around 33hz made outta 3/4" MDF for 2 Kicker L7's.

u brace it at all. the box should not flex to much u do a dubble bafflel.

It's roughly 35x15x14 .. Not exact but pretty close.

That's only 3.27ft^3 before sub and port displacement, so I certainly hope you're using 10" L7's, but the box is still pretty small assuming you have a normal slot port.

Yeah well that's all I could fit into the trunk of my car unless I go through the back seats and I don't know how that would work out.. I'll check back and get the exact specs.. I had each sub in a separate box before and I know that this is about the same size as those combined but it does sound better.

Well yeah that's a given seeing as how I'm pretty new to car audio.. I was just trying to go from 2 boxes to 1 and it's 36x17.5x14.5 so that's about 4.15^3 ft before displacement.. That's seriously all I can fit into my trunk. :-/

Yeah, 5ft^3 after displacements is a good place to be at.

I wanted to build it bigger but that's as deep as I can build the box and still get it into my trunk. Theoretically I could fit a bigger box in the trunk but I can't get it into the trunk because of the angle that I have to put it in there.. Kinda makes me sad..

Pull out the false floor if you have one. That will give you more room

Its an 8 made by splaudio with an sdc2.5 motor. I have a vid of it in action in one of my threads just search splaudio or my threads
