well im trying to design a bandpass box for a friend and so far i got this

bandpass.jpg

1.52 cubic ft. in the front sealed chamber.

2.56 cubic ft. in the rear ported area

the ports are the rear chamber are 3in. in diameter and will be 6.7in. long each.

now does this sound about right for this kind of a box or did i completely **** up

Man, you build a bandpass box around driver parameters. Some drivers will work well and some with sound absolutely horrible depending on the passband and some will not work at all in the same box design.

Do you know the driver your friend is using?

Actually those driver arn't that bad.

You really need to focus on a passband, but here would be some basic designs.

For a completely flat response (SQ): Passband = 35-94 Hz

Build For Each driver:

0.51 cu/ft Vented: Tuned to 58 Hz

0.76 cu/ft Sealed

For a 3db gain (SPL): Passband = 45-100 Hz

Build For Each driver:

0.51 cu/ft Vented : Tuned to 69 Hz

0.47 cu/ft Sealed

ok um wow can some1 post a link for the subs used i never heard of them...i want to play around with t.hem i will start with .88 cubes sealed per sub playing into a common 2.5 cube ported area with a 70square inch port tuned to 60hz thtas going to be my starting point and i will tweek as time go along. now if i want something thats alittle less output i would start with 1.25 cube per sub playing into a common .90 cubes ported area tuned to 50hz with a 70square inch port. 80

http://www.splusa.net/PDF/SPLWooferSpecs2003.pdf

that has the specs of the subs. the ml-12

if anyone wants to help design a box for me feel free. i would greatly appriciate it

^^^ The box above was design for those subs (based on the specs you just provided).... if you give me dimensions to work with I can build something that will perform better.
