Alright so I was thinking about getting this amp MTX X Thunder 600XD Mono subwoofer amplifier 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com to power two 12'' 4ohm 600rms subs. The thing is that it says it's only 325 x 1 at 4 ohms, and I really don't think that's gonna be enough. Can I bridge this amp to get more power? CF doesn't say.

Oh and the 2 subs only have 1 terminal in the back for connection wire, so does that mean that the "325" rms will be split in half or will both be going at that power?

Thanks guys.

That amp cannot be bridged since it is a 1 channel amp. But that amp puts out 600x1 at 2ohm, which is what you would get if you configure your subs together to get a 2 ohm load. So you would split 600 by both of them, 300rms per sub.

But I would suggest you don't get that amp, buy one off here for cheaper and much, much better quality.

Do not buy anything off crutchfield $$$$$$$$$$$. I will openly admit i stopped reading this post after seeing that. You get a better deal anywhere else.
I'm not buying it off there...if you went to the site you would have seen try don even sell it anymore on there. I'm getting it from a friend.

Yeah the kid was telling me he bridged it..but wait so the 12'' will give me a 2 ohm load? How does that work..? Because they're Single 4 Ohm Voice Coil subs.

How much does your friend want for it? I'm always hesitant to buy equipment from people like that, that think they can bridge mono amps. It indicates that they have no clue what they are doing and you never now what kind of damage has been done. With your luck, it'll quit in two weeks.

He said he bridged it in the box to one input so it only hooked up to one input for both. And thank you for the diagram!
