Sup guys

Just bought a pair of OZ vector 10's, single coil 4 ohm... got a hell of a deal I think

Anybody know the #'s on these subs? The box says 500W MAX but i dont know if thats RMS or peak....

Right now I am pushing these with a small Alpine MRP-M350 which pushes 350 watts RMSx1 at 2 ohms

(2 4ohm subs wired in parallel would make 2 ohms right?)

Is this amp dangerously small for this setup? I do plan on upgrading the amp but wondering if the Alpine is safe to use as a temporary (and to break in the subs)

Also, should I go ported or keep it sealed? I'm not familiar with these subs at all.

Thanks in advance

max and peak mean the same thing. you want to find out their rms/continuous rating

the newest Vectors ratings are 350rms, 700 peak per sub

i bet yours are 250rms, 500 peak per sub

either way, youll want a much bigger amp

id probably get this for $250

just go easy on the gain until you find out for sure what their rms is

Great link - thanks 4 the advice - why should i wire it in series, to quadruple the impedance before setting gain? Does it make it easier to hear or something? I do not understand this.
so youll only feed the subs like 75 watts vs 350 or more

its just to be safe, just for a minute, to set your gain, then wire them up in parallel and youre done
