Quantum Audio amplifiers

A friend of mine swears by this amp, and that it does a "true" 3500 max @ 1 ohm....i seen this amp push two db drive 12's rated at 1000 rms each, although the gain was maxed out when i checked it....it got loud for what it was, louder than me anyway (see sig)

anyway, hes looking at getting two cvx 12's (i suggested these) and power them with this amp....the amp is rated to do 1750 rms @ 1ohm

i just wanted to get you guys opinion on this amp...to me the amp is just tooo small to put out that kinda power....and its hella cheap...any experience with this amp?

that thing wouldnt do 3500 on 18volts. let alone the 1750 its actually rated at normal voltage

quantum is EXTREME BUDGET

look at the price you are paying there. no way you are getting a true 3500 for $200

they did make a higher line in the past that wasnt to bad but overall

Thanks for the comments guys....it just seemed odd when i heard those db drive 12's and how loud they were off that tiny *** amp...

what kinda power do you guys think it might do on a good day?

well you said yourself the gains were at max. im shocked nothing went up in smoke. even with that probably around

700 or so on a very good day

that amp is 500-800 rms at the MOST.

I just did the math with voltage at 13.8 and i got 662 watts with 80% efficiency

Quantum, Hypnotic, and db Drive are all the same company.....

db research located in Texas....

some products aren't that bad, some leave much to be desired.....
