Quality, Clean, Bass

I"ll keep my eyes open.....I have not heard of most of these brands. And, I have had some bad experiences with used....I have an XTANT 12 that has something internally wrong. It is not blown though. If someone likes to fix subs...I wouldn't mind giving that up
every one of those subs i listed were top notch. Quite a bit better than the type r and w3 the other guy listed. I would suggest the Rlp's i loved those subs when i heard them. and he has 2. So then come up with anoth 150 and get that hifonics and that would pretty frickin loud man.

yea make sure you do a lot of research before i started posting on this site i thought jl was god and every other sub was sh*'t i still lvoe jl but ive learned there are other subs that work just as well for half the price

I do tons of research before i buy my subs, here is what i have found out from experience and research..

I have heard the following:

Rockford HX2's - THE OLD OLD kind, SOUNDS GOOD

Rockford Punch p1's - Sounds like crap

Rockford Punch P2's - still sounds like crap

MTX Thunder 10's - Very tight bass, Sounds good

Kicker CVR 12's - Sounds loud but definitely not clean at all, crap.

Volfenhag - for the price it bangs hard but it is cheaply made and is really just spl, no sound quality.

Alpine Type r - Sounds good but has a different sound to them.

Polk Audio - sounds clean but way over priced...

Phoenix Gold RSDC - Amazing, this sounds extremely crisp and clear and is loud. Far better than a Type R imo.

I will honestly tell you to go with some of the brands you have never heard of, I bought my Phoenix Gold RSDC not knowing exactly what to expect but i have to say that i am amazed at the quality and sound of this sub.

I spent very little and got a huge performance. Get a quality subwoofer, a quality setup and i would recommend a custom box and you will have a sweet setup.

pg, si, daytona are all good choices for low prices.

You can't go wrong with port as far as wanting to be heard, but a sealed box is your best bet for clean bass.Go with 12's (Kicker) slanted box, firing towards trunk.Subs rated 250rms and amp at 600rms...you can't go wrong

maybe I just noticed the title says quality, clean bass, and most are saying Type R. Not the best sounding by any means.....

It is a '94 Thunderbird 2dr. The trunk is not very tall but it is wide. I know 12's will fit because I had 1 but it was close. I would like to try not to spend more than $450, but I can. I'm looking for clean and crisp bass. But I want it to be able to give me a good slam sometimes too.

A 15 will fit, a local guy had a DD 9515d in his Thunder Chicken, 4.5 ported tuned to 35 hz.

You can get two 12" memphis PR's for around 130, and they are 300 wrms each, so I am sure you can find a decent 600 wrms amp for them for 250 or under.......and I love the sound of memphis products. Very clean.
