Quality, Clean, Bass

Hello,

I just joined the forum....I have been planning to put a system in my 94 Thunderbird. I was looking at the Audiobahn AW 1200V, however, I have been reading some bad reviews on them. Then, I have a buddy who has been installing systems for years telling me to go with the Audiobahn. The, I have been looking at these Alpine Type R's because they seem to be one of the solid affordable woofers out right now.

I am looking to spend around $450 for the system not including the box or wiring. Could anyone recommend to me a solid setup with amp that would bump clean and if needed, let people know I'm coming //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Oh, I am looking for a setup with 2 12's

$450 for subs and amps isn't going to give you much money to go with Rs and a good amp for them. You can always go with the typical newbie street beater - 2 12" Arghs and a Hifonics amp. That may be in your budget, especially if you go used.

I'm not looking to win any competitions or anything. I can go more than $450 if I have to. If you can just give some recommended setups. Not necessarily just Alpine or Audiobahn.

Solid advice...however, I don't believe my trunk is tall enough for a 15"
what kind of car?

And how much are you willing to give up. Im sure we cna figure somthin out for you.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It is a '94 Thunderbird 2dr. The trunk is not very tall but it is wide. I know 12's will fit because I had 1 but it was close. I would like to try not to spend more than $450, but I can. I'm looking for clean and crisp bass. But I want it to be able to give me a good slam sometimes too.

The cleanest bass comes from quality drivers, like Alpine Type-R, Eclipse, or JL audio W3's. A lot of people here hate on JL for being so expensive, but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to higher-end brands...

I"ll keep my eyes open.....I have not heard of most of these brands. And, I have had some bad experiences with used....I have an XTANT 12 that has something internally wrong. It is not blown though. If someone likes to fix subs...I wouldn't mind giving that up
