Quad Voice Coil Wiring

I searched high and low for the answer. Even did some simple math. And nothing I do seems to come out correct. On top of that, there is virtually nothing on the internet (except for some broken links) that show how to wire a QVC sub to 2ohms.

What impedance are the coils on the subs?

These are your two options:

its probably between 1.2 and 1.4 ohms per coil. the final DCR of all parallel would be 1/4 that... so about 0.35 or 0.3... very low!

look for 1/2 ohm stable amp, or do one amp per coil (2 ohm stable), or one amp per two coils (1 ohm stable)

Hell. As far as I know. There are four negative and four posative terminals on each sub.

The 4 neg's/pos's are neg in/out, pos in/out for each VC.

You need around 2000w at either 1/2 or 2 ohms.

Nothing is going to get close to that at in the $220 range, that would even be tricky to do if you're buying used/refurb'd.

The cheapest option I can think of for a new amp is the Lanzar Opti2000D. It will do 1800-1900 at 1/2 ohm -- it's about $330 shipped.

Well if I decide to stick with my current amp until next pay check, how could I go about wiring both subs to a monoblock at 2ohms?

You have a t40001bd? Keep it. If you sell, you've got something wrong with you.
